Circus Ring of Fame Announces Newest Members
27th ANNUAL INDUCTION JANUARY 19, 2014 AT St. ARMANDS CIRCLE IN SARASOTA, FL
SARASOTA, FLA.— Pinito del Oro, who brought a combination of beauty and flawless trapeze balancing to the big top, is among a quartet of circus notables who have been elected to the prestigious Circus Ring of Fame.
Joining her as the newest Ring members are Paul Binder, Big Apple Circus co-founder; Ian Garden Sr., former circus owner and animal trainer; and the Theron Family of high-energy bicyclists.
The new members are scheduled for induction January 19 at the Ring site at historic St. Armands Circle. The inductees will also make a public appearance a day earlier at the Sailor Circus arena where they will participate in a free-wheeling panel discussion trying to unravel the puzzle as to how one best entertains the public.
The Circus Ring of Fame Foundation is a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization that was founded in 1987. Each year it has recognized a few worthy individuals who have made significant contributions to the circus. The addition of this year’s four new members will bring to 115 the number that will have been inducted since the Ring’s founding.
